Inverness Airport will offer direct access to mainland Europe in 2009 with a new air link to Germany operated by Lufthansa, it was confirmed today (Tuesday 28 October).

A new service from Inverness to the German city of Düsseldorf will offer travellers from the Highlands a quick and easy connection into Lufthansa’s ‘Gateway to the World’.

Flybe, Europe’s largest and most successful regional airline, today starts operating its 2008/9 Winter programme directly serving five routes namely Belfast City, Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton and  38 flights a week alone to London Gatwick.
