Talks will take place between Highlands and Islands Airports, trade union Unite and employee representatives on Monday 30th June in a bid to avert a second day of strike action at airports in the north and west of Scotland.
The development comes after nine airports in the region were closed to scheduled flights by industrial action over pay on Monday 23rd June.
Unite is due to stage a second 24-hour period of industrial action at HIAL airports on Friday 4th July.
A spokesman for HIAL said: “All parties will be sitting down to try and find a way out of the current dispute. We want to identify a way forward that will allow us to work together on the issue of pay. We also want to avoid a second day of disruption to passengers at our airports.”
HIAL will have to notify airlines by close of business on Monday 30th June of whether or not it expects strike action to close airports on 4th July.
