What we offer
Benefits For Balance
With family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements and support services we’ll help you balance work and home life. Flexible working options include part time hours, flexi time and homeworking. Our generous annual leave package is 28.5 days annually, increasing to 33.5 days after five years’ service, plus eight public holidays.
We’re Carer Positive (Level 1 - Engaged) and working towards breastfeeding friendly employer recognition.
Health and Wellbeing
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is offered to all employees and their immediate family 24/7 via telephone and online. This provides phone, online and face-to-face counselling where required, in addition to specialist information on topics like financial advice and debt counselling.
Our Wellbeing Champions offer peer support around colleagues’ health and wellbeing while our Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme makes bike ownership more affordable.
Equal Opportunities
We promote a diverse and inclusive community at each of our locations – a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. We strive to ensure that all staff are treated equitably regardless of their age, race (including nationality, ethnic or national origin), disability, sexual orientation, gender (including gender reassignment), marital or religion or belief. We are committed to ensure that all staff receive equal pay for work of equal value.
Disability Confident
A Disability Confident Committed employer, we offer employment opportunities and develop the full potential of employees with a disability. During recruitment, if you meet the essential post criteria, you will be short-listed. If you are appointed to the role, we will explore reasonable adjustments to enable you to carry out the job. If you require assistance during the recruitment process this can be noted on your application form.
Volunteering Days
Volunteering within communities makes a difference. That’s why we support employees with two paid days leave per year to carry out voluntary work.
Learning and Development
As Investors in People (IIP) we encourage employees and managers to discuss job progression and career advancement. We support learning opportunities including coaching and mentoring from colleagues and managers, e-learning and other on-line resources and formal courses delivered by in-house experts or commissioned experts.
Gaelic Language Plan
HIAL is committed to the National Gaelic Language Plan objectives and has structures and initiatives in place to ensure Gaelic’s sustainability. We welcome applications from anyone with Gaelic language skills.
Armed Forces Friendly
Serving forces, reservists and veterans add value to the workplace and we have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant. As an armed forces friendly organisation, we have special leave policies.
Living Wage Employer
Our staff deserve a fair pay. We offer competitive salary scales and are a Scottish living wage employer. Our salaries are reviewed annually in line with Scottish Government pay policy.
Environmental Protection
We seek to exceed environmental and sustainability targets using innovative methods in line with our Environmental Strategy 2020-2030. Inverness Airport has qualified for the Airport Carbon Accreditation scheme (Level 1, mapping) while our 10 other airports have attained Carbon Footprint Standard (assessed) certification.
