Reliable and affordable air links are recognised as essential to underpinning the future of resilient economies in the Highlands and Islands.
To retain or grow key services we’ll work with stakeholders to support services in an ever-changing market. This will be done through our commitment to:
- Work with our airlines to assist route recovery, encouraging them to retain services and explore new market opportunities for the region
- Review the provision of services and support available to attract new entrant airlines
- Work with Government to review and develop support mechanisms like the Air Discount Scheme and the Public Service Obligation
