- Pension – we offer different pension benefits across the HIAL Group with generous company contributions. Further details on the pension scheme are provided once you receive an offer of employment.
- Pay - We offer competitive salaries and are a Scottish Living Wage employer. The salary for the post is contained in the advert. Annual pay increases are in line with those recommended by the Scottish Government Pay Policy unit. Some roles may be entitled to additional allowances, where these apply are also detailed in the advert. All salaries are subject to review through the Company’s evaluation process.
- Hours of Work - The hours of work for each vacancy are published with the job advert. Full time hours are 40 per week (inclusive of lunch breaks). There may be a requirement to work shift patterns in some of the roles, which will be outlined in the advert. To support employees with a work life balance we are supportive of Flexible Working arrangements.
- Annual leave - We provide a generous annual leave entitlement of 28.5 days annual leave, which rises to 33.5 days after 5 years service (pro rata if part-time). In addition to your annual leave entitlement there are 8 fixed public holidays each year (pro rata if part time).
- Family Leave - We offer paid family leave (maternity leave, shared parental leave etc), in excess of the statutory minimum.

- Sick Pay Scheme - We offer a generous occupational sick pay scheme. Sick pay entitlement is based on full entitlement from day one of employment. Employees are entitled to 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay in any 4 year rolling period.
- Personal and professional development opportunities are supported by our Learning and Development Team as continuous learning and development is of paramount importance to us all at HIAL. All new employees undertake an induction and onboarding process, which can involve several training courses.
- Professional Membership Fees are funded by HIAL where these are an essential requirement for your role
- Employee Assistance Programme - This benefit is available to all employees by telephone through a helpline, as well as an online service. Employees can call the EAP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for access to telephone advice, support, and counselling.

These facilities are provided primarily for the use of our Airport Fire Service to assist them in maintaining the required level of fitness to meet the fitness and medical standards, but all employees can book to use the facilities.
- Cycle to Work Scheme - where staff can make substantial savings on the retail cost of a bike, with the cost being deducted monthly from salary prior to any PAYE or National Insurance Contributions.
- Employee volunteering - 2 paid days leave per year to carry out voluntary work. Special leave to those joining the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Retained or Volunteer service. We believe serving forces, reservists and veterans add value to the workplace and as an Armed Forces Friendly Organisation we have special leave policies in place to support those in the reserve forces.
