Project Update - 24 October 2024

Significant progress has been made on the aeronautical lighting upgrade. The AGL lighting for Main Runway 05-23 is now 100% complete with new bases, and new cabling has been installed on Runway 11-29 and the North and South Aprons in preparation for phase two. New threshold and PAPI lights have been successfully installed at both ends of Runway 05/23. October 2024 will focus on excavating and installing AGL cabling on the 23 Approach, with testing and commissioning soon after. 

Project Update - 26 July 2024

The project is progressing smoothly. The excavation and installation of new AGL cabling on Main Runway 05—23 have been completed, with AGL lighting on new bases now 75% finished. The focus for August 2024 will be on excavating and installing new cabling on Runway 11-29, as well as the North and South Apron, in preparation for the future Phase Two. The project is currently on schedule.

Project Update - 25 April 2024

The main works start week commencing Monday 29 April, whereby excavations of the 05—23 Runway will begin.

In the meantime, the team have established the site welfare, completed survey works and have taken delivery of over 100,000km of AGL cable.
