Project Update - 24 October 2024
The aeronautical lighting upgrade at Kirkwall Airport is progressing well. Primary ducting, manhole chambers, duct crossings, edge light bases and fittings, and inset light fittings are all 100% complete. Wingbar bases and lights, approach bases, guard light bases, and illuminated signs are also fully installed. Cabling is 90% complete, as are the guard lights, while the installation of approach masts is at 25%. Reinstatement works are halfway done, keeping the project on track for its next phase.
Project Update - 26 July 2024
The project is progressing well, with several key installations nearing completion. The primary ducting is 95% complete, and the installation of manhole chambers has reached 80%. Both the duct crossings and wingbar bases and lights are fully installed, while the edge light bases and fittings are 90% finished. Inset light fittings have been installed at 40%, and cabling work is 25% complete.
