As part of the 2024 Scottish Climate Week, Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) is proud to join the national conversation with a focus on “Stories for Change.”
This year’s theme, supported by the Scottish Government, harnesses the power of storytelling to inspire greater understanding and action around climate change. Running from 23 to 29 September, Scottish Climate Week aligns with the Highland Climate Festival, offering a rich program of events across the HIAL region.
At the heart of HIAL’s participation is our commitment to sustainable aviation. As we celebrate Scottish Climate Week, we highlight our role in enabling air connectivity and supporting lifeline services through a network of sustainable airports. Our ambition is clear: to become a net-zero regional airport group.
HIAL’s airports play a crucial role in providing essential air connectivity to some of the most remote parts of the Highlands and Islands, where alternative travel options are limited. We are deeply aware of the environmental impacts our operations may have on local communities, and we are committed to understanding, mitigating, and reducing these impacts as part of our broader sustainability strategy.
As we move forward, HIAL remains dedicated to driving positive change, supporting our remote communities, and leading the way in sustainable aviation. We invite everyone to follow our journey on social media, where we will share stories using the hashtag #ScotClimateWeek. Join us in celebrating Scottish Climate Week 2024.
