Darren MacLeod has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for HIAL.
Darren joined HIAL in 2017and is a key member of the strategic leadership team responsible for setting HIAL’s goals and strategic priorities. He has extensive experience in a number of disciplines including ICT and cyber security, project management and oversight of the Project Management Office as well as a number of functions including Infrastructure, Safety and Compliance, and Corporate Security.
In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, Darren will retain his current role as Accountable Manager, leading the operational teams and will oversee HIAL’s airport operations and regulatory compliance with specific responsibilities for aerodrome management and safety, including risk management, health and safety and environmental requirements.
Aviation is in Darren’s blood, and outside of work he is a private pilot and a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He enjoys flying across the Highlands and Islands and visiting the airports from a customer’s perspective.
