#LivingWageWeek, began yesterday and runs until 21 November. It is an annual celebration of the success of the real Living Wage movement and the benefits it brings to employees.
At Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) our people lie at the heart of the organisation, and we are proud to be accredited as a Real Living Wage employer.
The movement is now 20 years old, and it was announced yesterday that the Living Wage rate is rising to £9.90 an hour, which is an increase of £0.40. The Living Wage is calculated independently, based on the cost of living for employees and their families. Employers can voluntarily choose to pay this.
Andrea Sillars, Director of HR, said: “At HIAL we are committed to investing in and supporting the continued growth of our colleagues.
“As an organisation we aim to support social and economic development in the areas our airports serve, which are some of the more remote locations in Scotland.”
